Nelson’s Aflex Technology took to the water on Saturday with their gigantic waterpark.
The company took their modular inflatable waterpark to Kaiteriteri Beach for a trial and photo shoot.
Anyone 10 years and older was invited to go crazy on the 45 by 20-metre waterpark, with smaller animal inflatables for the kids. Over 100 people raced along the course and jumped into the water.
Aflex Technology’s Christie Horne says, “everyone really enjoyed it, there were lots of smiles and no injuries. It’s really cool to get it out on the water and show people what can be made in little old Nelson.”
Despite being made up of over 16 different modules, the waterpark is only a medium waterpark.
Aflex collected gold coin donations which were given to the Nelson Surf Life Saving Club, who were guarding the waterpark.
Christie says the company are definitely going to bring the waterpark back to Kaiteriteri sometime this summer.
Aflex Technology began in 1991, making sails and shades but are now designing and manufacturing pool inflatables that are being sold around the world.
