Saturday’s Truck Show saw over 2000 people turn up at the A&P Showgrounds for some family fun and to check out the 85 featured trucks.
Kids filled the bouncy castles and Zorb balls while the adults checked out the trucks which included everything from emergency vehicles, log trucks to B trains and shift ’n’ lifts.
Self-proclaimed petrolhead, Dave Rutherford has been trucking since he was 12.
“It’s an awesome day, checking out the different rigs and it’s the only time we can get together with other truck drivers.”
The annual PTA-run fundraiser for Stoke School raised over $7500.
Stoke PTA chairperson, Vicki Saville says the day was a huge hit.
“We’re stoked, there were even guys standing at the gate at 7.45 am with their cameras, ready to take pictures as the trucks rolled in.”
The event has been running for three years now.
PTA member Melanie Andrews says, “we’re a team of 10 women so some people are surprised that this is what we came up with.”
