All ages gathered at Nelson’s Founders Heritage Park today to celebrate the Mexican Day of the Dead.
Filled with music, face painting, pinatas, performances, Mexican food and drinks, bouncy castles and a chilli sauce competition, the day was a hit
Prizes were given for the best Mexican Day of the Dead costume and best homemade chili sauce.
Day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday that focuses on remembering, celebrating and praying for friends and family that have passed away.
Festival-goers were encouraged to bring photographs and help create an altar.
