The Nelson Youth Theatre Charitable Trust is getting ready to launch its 2016 season under its new branding, “Live Arts Nelson”.

The team who brought you Hairspray, The Producers and Into the Woods during 2014 and 2015 are rebranding to Live Arts Nelson to both reflect their broader offer to youth and to establish a unique, more differentiated brand.

Odie Stratmore Ching is currently the Artistic Director of the Nelson Youth Theatre Trust will be the Artistic Director for Live Arts Nelson. “Our current show, The Three Musketeers Le Panteau, will be the last show under our current name. We have the full backing of The Nelson Youth Theatre Charitable Trust and are looking forward to a fresh new look with plenty of opportunities for the Youth of Nelson to engage in all aspects of the arts,” says Odie.

Kicking off in October 2015, NetGen Live will be Live Arts Nelson’s newest initiative, a showcase of Nelson’s talented youth. The proceeds from NetGen Live will be used to start a scholarship fund for Nelson youth participating in the arts.

Live Arts Nelson is very pleased to announce that Rock of Ages will be the main musical in 2016. Rock of Ages promises to be every bit as big as Hairspray.

Live Arts Nelson will be staging two or three large musicals each year, as well as a host of other exciting opportunities such as improv and physical theatre and opportunities in art, photography, sewing, acting, makeup and technical aspects of performance with the School of Live Arts.
