The two dominate teams of Nelson club rugby over the past three seasons will once again square off in a battle for Tasman supremacy.
Waimea Old Boys and Wanderers were already guaranteed a place in the Tasman Trophy final before last weekend’s games, but both warmed up in the best possible way, with big wins.
The Tasman Trophy involves all senior club teams from Nelson and Marlborough.
The final will double as a Nelson Bays club competition match, so won’t be played until June 13.
Waimea have been undefeated all season and continued that good form at Trafalgar Park on Friday night, beating Central 60-23.
Wanderers have lost two club finals in a row to Waimea and will be hungry for redemption. They beat Harlequins 60-20 in Brightwater on Saturday.
In other Tasman Trophy games, Marist beat Renwick 83-13, Nelson beat Waitohi 30-10 and Stoke beat Moutere 39-15
