The Quest apartment building on Collingwood Street is due to open on Monday next week.

The building features 40 studio one and two bedroom serviced apartments. They are each equipped with a kitchenette, private laundry and spacious living and dining areas.

Other amenities include a pantry shopping service, high-speed internet access, chargeback facilities with local restaurants, valet dry cleaning and secure onsite car parking.

The building is Quest’s first property in Nelson providing another accommodation option for business and travellers who visit the city.

55 tonne of reinforcing steel has been put into the foundation alone with around 4000 cubic metres of concrete used to form the building.

Shane Etridge, senior site manager for Arrow International, who oversaw the build, says now construction is complete the building will be handed over to Quest fully furnished and ready to go.

“There is a process that Quest does after we hand the building over where they spend about a week training their staff up before the building opens to the public.”

Quest Serviced Apartments New Zealand CEO Stephen Mansfield says this is an exciting project for Quest and the city of Nelson.

“Nelson is a strong market popular with both domestic and international travellers with demand for high-quality, flexible accommodation on the rise. Opening a property in Nelson is an important step for Quest as we expand our footprint across New Zealand. We expect the demand for Quest Nelson to be high as guests seek high-quality accommodation located close to the city centre.”

Quest on Nelson’s newly appointed franchise director has been with the company for eight years and was previously the franchise director for Quest Palmerston North and Quest on Eden in Auckland.
