Record turnout for Run Mahana

A record number of competitors took part in Sunday’s Run Mahana, and through the hundreds of first-timers and experienced runners, none were quicker than half marathon winner Brian Kemp.

Brian clocked in at Woollaston Estate with a time of one hour 21 minutes and 51 seconds, less than one minute ahead of runner up Alan Bryson. Nick Crocker was third in one hour 26 minutes and 46 seconds.

This year’s Run Mahana, hosted by Nelson Events for the fourth consecutive year in its current format attracted more than 1000 participants. Colette Read took out the women’s half marathon with Steve Parker winning the walk. Lyn Smith won the women’s walk.
