Young chef third in NZ

The winner of the Up and Coming chef competition in Nelson earlier this year has added another gong, collecting a bronze medal at a national young chef competition in Auckland last night.

Nic Dellabosca of Mint Dining Room recently won entry through to the competition as part of the successful Nelson Hospitality Awards. His flights and accommodation were paid for as part of his prize for winning the competition. In the lead up to the competition he told Nelson Weekly he was excited and nervous about competing but grateful his head chef at Mint Dining Room, Grant Dicker, was going to be also be at the event, as a judge.

“That will help a lot, just being able to bounce some ideas off him.”

The recipe that Nic cooked will be on the Mint menu until this weekend.
